Win my new Sieden Prairie cowl pattern and 4 skeins of my Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted yarn or the pattern only.  The 3 Winners will be announced June 26th.

Play with color, shape and texture with my new infinity cowl Sieden Prairie.  Broad and sweeping the open plains of my native Illinois have always appealed to me, with its wide flat expanses dotted with tree lines and, of course, farmer's fields.  The solids and stripes of this cowl pay homage to this land and the doubled fabric protects from the long, cold Illinois winters.  The cacophony of varied terrain, changing seasons and a horizon that is always far off spoke to me when I picked up my needles, I used my Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted and a variety of knitting techniques including knitting in the round, simple lace, ribbing and stranded colorwork.

Sieden Prairie is knit in the round  as a tube, this double fabric will keep you warm in even the harshest of winters, and the ends are kitchnered together.

Skill Level: Intermediate Approximate Size:  8” wide x 24.5” long Yarn: 4 skeins (2 MC and 1 each CC1 & CC2) Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted (215 yds/100 grams, 100% 100% Uruguayan Merino Wool), MC Renaissance, CC1 Highland and CC2 Firebird
Knitting Needles & Notions: 2 sets US 8 (5.0mm) ” Circulars and 1 Stitch Marker & Tapestry Needle
Gauge: 4.5 sts = 1” but Gauge is Not Critical

There will be 3 lucky winners!
  1. Sieden Prairie Cowl Kit, pattern and 4 skeins of Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted.  Winner chooses the colorways.
  2. Sieden Prairie Cowl PDF
  3. Sieden Prairie Cowl PDF

For your convenience I've put together Kits with my Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted and/or Malabrigo Merino Worsted.  Both of these yarns are On Sale for only $7.99 a skein and if you purchase at least 4 of either yarn or mix & match you'll receive the Sieden Prairie cowl pattern for FREE!  Why not play with the textures and knit your Sieden Prairie in a solid!?

I like spring maple best - more solid construction near the body to keep you warm and drape over the lacey bits

The Sieden Prairie is my choice. Not only is it a great deasign, it's the guy-friendliest pattern, and I'm a guy, so that was that. Kidding aside, I really like the variety of stitches and the simple intarsia block design. The colors in your sample even resemble the Dk Chocolate, Mustard, Avovado and Paprika sweater I just finished. I'm thinking it's an omen, and making room in my queue for this.

The Spring Maple patter would have to be my favorite. It's as beautiful as it is daunting for never-have-knit-a-shawl-before me!

Currently following you on twitter as @ilbapsi

My favorite Sandra Singch exclusive is the Melody's Stole pattern. I have been trying to find a rectangular shawl pattern to knit and this pattern seems perfect to me.
