the Eliza Shawl by Robyn Gallimore

January is all about "Knit for Me" time!  Create something beautiful for yourself and learn a new skill or two while you're doing, plus have this amazing shawl to wear and enjoy for many, many years.

Robyn Gallimore of Red Bird Knits' created the beautiful Eliza Shawl in Kauni Effektgarn 8/2.  A colorful triangular shawl knit from the center back of the neck to make use of the long color changes of Effektgarn

The motif is based on an old Anatolian pattern and Robyn thinks Eliza Doolittle might have liked to wear this on those cool London mornings.  Knit in the round using a steek, which is then cut and wrapped in a stocking stitch binding to neaten up the edges.

Finished Size: 71" x 31.5"
Yarn: 1000-1200 yards Kauni Effektgarn 8/2 (100% wool, yardage varies per ball)
Needles: US 6 (4mm)
Gauge: 6 sts = 1" in two color motif in stockinette stitch

Kauni Effektgarn 8/2 is an amazing self striping yarn painted in long, vibrant color repeats which give your finished garments and accessories beautiful, long stripes of color.  Crafted of 100% wool this sport weight yarn can be knit and felted with equally stunning results.  Let your imagination flow with projects for shawls, cardigans and pullovers, handbags and more.
