WIN Fiber Dreams' Picnic Perfect Shawl Kit

Feeling lucky?  It's giveaway time, the very first of 2014 and the prize is Fiber Dreams' beautiful, new shawl pattern Picnic Perfect and one hank of Conjoined Creations' Flat Feet yarn in Lively Pinks.

Lazy times in days gone by picnicking at the shore, everyone is dressed in white except that one woman who invariably wears a pastel floral print dress, cabled V-neck pullovers with a navy blue line to set off the neck, big picnic baskets, sun hats, fine china and crystal, boats with pennants flying, reading, a glass of wine, napping under a tree, children watching bumble bees in the grass.  Dress in your best for your next picnic with Fiber Dreams' Picnic Perfect shawl.

Lace portion is knit first, increasing to full width from a very small provisional cast on, then decreasing to a point. Stitches are then picked up along the edge, and it’s shaped into a crescent with garter stitch short rows.

Size (length measured along the top of the short rows): 54.25 x 10.25 (61.75 x 10.75, 69 x 11.25, 76.25 x 11.75) inches; 138 x 26 (157 x 27, 175.5 x 28.5, 193.5 x 30) cm.
Yarn: light fingering weight; 340 410, 475, 550 yards.
Skills: k2tog, ssk, YO, p2tog, ssp, k3tog, s2-k1-p2sso, pick up stitch from dropped loops, pick up stitches along an edge, short rows
Notions: stitch markers optional, cable needle optional, yarn needle, small amount of smooth waste yarn in contrasting color for provisional cast on (couple yards will do).
Stitch patterns: Charted and written.

I love your giveaways. I don't always enter, but the pattern (and let's be honest - the purple) for Aquitania is out of this world.

I've loved Lalique since I saw it at the Spirit Trail Fiberworks both at the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival in NY State. I even bought the yarn for it, but now need to advance my knitting skills before I can attempt it.

I actually like Picnic Perfect the best because it is her most original pattern; that open stitchwork is unique.

Lalique is aboslutely stunning! The detailing is so delicate. This would be perfect for a wedding or a night out with my hubby.

Nelda said...

The Lalique would make a beautiful gift but it is out of my comfort zone right now, but I keep learning so the delicate lace panels could be in my future pile for a granddaughter! Its so youthful and stylish for the younger crowd!

sorry, I forgot to put in my comment on the Lalique that I liked you on FB. Thanks so much!

laliique is just the thing to keep the chill off, but so dressy.

I really like the Lalique. Those light, lacy cardigans are so practical for just a little layer of warmth.

Since it is -6F here right now and I feel like I will not be warm until June, I am torn between socks and cowls. I really like Moonvine & Sunspots. I would really like to have had it last night on the way home, although my hand knit socks were wonderful.

The Fiber Dreams Dulcavina is the BEST shawl pattern I have ever seen, just what I have been looking for. I want a nice shawl that you can wrap up in and the dual colors add an elegance that most shawls do not have.
