The Last Day of January is Turning Out to be Very Busy! And the Winner of the Picnic Perfect Shawl Kit.

I can't believe how busy this last day of January is!  It's rather exciting.  First up I want to announce the winner of the Fiber Dreams' blog giveaway for the lovely Picnic Perfect Shawl Kit, thank you to everyone who entered...drum roll please...

MLJ1954 of the "for knitters and others" blog.  Congratulations and please email me at Sandrasingh@sandrasingh.com to claim your prize.

And next I have some happy news, I've begun work on another original cowl design and I'm loving every stitch.  It will be geared toward an advanced beginner yet perfect for my more experienced knitters who need a relaxing knit that will end up being a beloved wardrobe staple.  All I can show you right now are the three colorways I choose, (thank you to my Sunday knitting peeps for your help with this, your opinions are always worth their weight in yarn).

Of course I'm using my Sandrasingh 1 Ply Merino Worsted and from left to right are Firebird, Renaissance and Highland.  I'm loving the way Renaissance is picking up the pinks in Firebird and the green in Highland and all three are knitting up beautifully.  I'm trying a few different techniques for this cowl and I think it's going to be an eye catcher.

And my newsletter today dicussed one of the Season's Best Looks: Boxy Sweaters.  Keeping with the current trend for oversized shapes these boxy sweaters are stylishly comfortable.
