June Knitting: a time to Give

As soon as I heard the news of the tornadoes that slammed into Oklahoma City I immediately thought, "What can I do for my neighbors to the North?"  Shortly after this devastating event a knitting friend reached out to me via Facebook about Suburban Knits' tornado relief project.  They were putting together an eBook of knitting patterns and 100% of the profits would be donated to charity.

k*tog features 20 knitting patterns from 19 designers who graciously donated their work in order to support the efforts of Other Options, Inc., an Oklahoma City charity that provides food and other services to the people of Oklahoma who lost so much in this recent disaster.

I'm very proud that my On the Hudson cowl pattern is featured in k*tog.

Enjoy the Full Moon this Weekend...

...and knit one for yourself!
Sivia Harding's Moon Shadow Stole

Lace in a midnight garden!  The lengthwise-knit Moonshadow Stole features beaded edges and borders, conjuring images of enchanting waves of moonlight.  The lace pattern is easy enough for beginners, while intriguing enough for seasoned lace knitters. Sivia wrote the pattern to be knit in Fingering Weight yarn and requires 1000 yards of yarn.

Enjoy all of Sivia Harding's designs.

Pebble by Laura Aylor

Grab a skein of your favorite sport weight yarn and learn a new stich with Aylor's textured cardigan Pebble. Semi-solid hand-dyes work especially well in a textured stitch, and this one is much less tedious to work than either moss or seed stitch. Only the wrong side rows have patterning, Right side rows are just knit.
