WIN Zsuzsa Kiss' Time for Coffee Shawl Kit

Thank you to everyone who entered, we have a winner! Linda aka Lmecoll on Ravelry.

Email me at sandrasingh@sandrasingh.com to claim your prizes!

It's time to take a closer look at the design work of Zsuzsa Kiss of Soft Rainbow Designs. Earlier this year I introduced her Time for Coffee Shawl and it was received with much fanfare! I now have the pleasure of introducing two new shawl patterns and a Giveaway!

Time for Coffee
The Winner of this Giveaway will receive the Time for Coffee Shawl pdf pattern and a skein of Kauni Effektgarn, (160 grams 704 yards) in the color of their choice.

Meet Zsuzsa Kiss: Kiss is a Hungarian-born knitter and designer who lives with her husband and 3 daughters in a small town near Zürich.   Having learned the basics of needlecraft as a child she rediscovered knitting when she moved to Switzerland. After the first, simpler garments she soon learned how to knit lace and moved on to more challenging pieces.

Being naturally curious and loving challenges she quickly became interested in patterns, which allowed her to create her own designs.

When friends liked the garments she designed and kept asking for the pattern, she decided to take designing more seriously. What started as a hobby became work, and what a fitting one. Her first pattern was published in 2012, and in the next year her first pattern for a magazine was also published, in the winter issue of “Knit Now.”

Things speeded up after this and apart from her existing 26 designs on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/designers/zsuzsa-kiss).  Zsuzsa loves challenges and discovering new areas in knitting. She produces her own range of hand-dyed yarns and has recently taken up spinning too. Getting to know all crafts connected to knitting is giving her an ever-expanding freedom to grow as a designer.

Winter in the Village
A triangular shawl is timeless piece, especially if it is full of lace and Winter in the Village is a classic. For those wanting a more modern look, drape it around your neck like a kerchief.  The shawl, which is available in two sizes, has a top-down construction; the pattern includes both written instructions and a chart.

Imola
And the elegant Imola Stole features a beautiful diamond pattern.  It is started with a provisional cast on and knit from the middle sideways.

Enter this Giveaway: The more ways you enter, the more chances you have to win. Make sure to leave a comment(s) under this blog post telling what you did to enter. And please make sure to leave your name and check this blog, Facebook, Twitter and my Ravelry group on May 6th to see if you have won.

I like the soft rainbow design shawl. I like the change of color and it would be great with casual outfits and other items and could almost be used as a scarf.

I love the Time for Coffee shawl and I have been eying the Effektgarn yarn for a long time but couldn't decide what to make from it. This would be perfect. I love the pastel colors but I also like the color that the TFC is pictured in. Ii get your emails and follow you on Ravelry and Facebook.

I like the Sunday Sunrise best, the way the texture creates a slight ruffling effect, how the design does resemble the rays of the sun shooting out. My first thought was "This is how Van Goch would paint the sun".

I like nearly everything I've seen that was made with Kauni Effektgarn, but this shawl does an especially good job of making the most of the color changes. One might even say that the design and the yarn were made for each other :)

And I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE Time for Coffee Shawl since it's SO colorful and really takes advantage of the colors of the yarn. I think the sideways edging is so interesting and is great for yarns with long color changes like this one. I'd wear it!

Actually it should read June 6th, not May 6th in the post, better correct that!

"Time to Coffee" is my favorite. I really like the "Winter in the Village" pattern also, but that soft, shifting rainbow is the one I would knit and wear. I can picture it brightening up my black winter coat, on a grey winter day!
